Between and below
the left and right cortical hemispheres
is an older brain.
The right brain has a silent sensuous understanding
of this older brain.
But the cortex on the left, with its recently acquired words,
linear analysis, and categorical divisions,
is casting a wide-meshed net of reason
that will never catch or hold,
or even suspect,
the intents of the mystery below.
